Overview
Amber Fort, also known as Amer Fort, is a magnificent hilltop fortress overlooking Maota Lake, built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases stunning Rajput architecture with its red sandstone and marble structures. The fort complex includes beautiful palaces like Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) with thousands of mirror tiles, Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), and Sukh Niwas with its ingenious water cooling system. Visitors can reach the fort via elephant ride, jeep, or climb the steps. The fort offers breathtaking views of Jaipur city and surrounding Aravalli hills.
