Madhya Pradesh
Overview
Bandhavgarh National Park holds the distinction of having the highest density of Bengal tigers in the world, making it arguably the best park in India for tiger sightings. Once the private hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Rewa, this park is famous for being the place where the last known white tiger was captured. Spread over 105 square kilometers of core area, Bandhavgarh is characterized by steep ridges, dense sal forests, and open grasslands dominated by the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort atop a hill. With tiger sighting success rates often exceeding 90%, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts consider this park a must-visit destination.
